10 Challengers Who Should Face CM Punk For The AEW World Championship
9. Andrade El Idolo
Just like Ethan Page, Andrade El Idolo has been part of an angle that hasn't quite worked. And just like Ethan Page, Andrade's moving on, recruiting his former Los Ingobernables teammate Rush during Double or Nothing. With a new faction seemingly forming, Andrade can begin to move up the card.
Andrade's best performance in AEW so far was the three-way TNT title match against Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin. He looked like a megastar in that match, showing exactly why he needs to be given that platform more often. Positioning him against CM Punk would be the kind of program that Andrade needs to cement his position at the top of a stacked AEW roster.
Punk can do the legwork when it comes to in-ring promos, with Andrade featuring in backstage segments and interviews where he can get to the point without having to cut a lengthy promo in his second language. Andrade's presentation and wrestling ability speak for themselves, and one of Punk's main goals in AEW has been to work with newer, younger talent. Andrade's AEW career would benefit greatly from being given this platform against the world champion.
