10 More Changes We Expect The WWE Network To Make

5. Increased Advertisement

When WWE Network was announced, one of the main draws was that it was almost completely ad-free. Aside from adverts for WWE products or shows on the WWE Network, which only ever appeared in between programming on the twenty-four hour streaming channel, users could watch as much wrestling as they liked without being interrupted by pesky adverts. These halcyon days could not last, and recently WWE introduced limited advertisements to the Network. They announced this in an email to users that outlined a dedication to being as unintrusive as possible and promised No commercial breaks during scheduled programming Limited advertising between shows Occasional advertising before our video-on-demand content This may be just the first step towards a more advertisement-heavy WWE Network. Currently there only a few advertisers on the service, including K-Mart, Pepsi and Mattel. As more join WWE may slowly increase the number of commercials as fans become increasingly used to them. It may soon be the norm to see up to three commercials before shows, or even worse, they might use the ad breaks in the archival content to show new advertisements. WWE need to make money. Selling more advertising on the Network is a logical progression.
