10 Changes That’d Happen If AEW's Tony Khan Bought WWE

6. AEW Would Win A Short-Term “War”

This is something Tony might not be able to resist.

On paper, Vince McMahon wanted to run WCW as a standalone business when he purchased his competition's remnants in 2001. Nitro was supposed to keep airing, and so were WCW pay-per-views. Then, that idea was scrapped in favour of the now-infamous "Invasion" angle.

Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Would Khan be too tempted to book WWE as an invading force looking to overwhelm the AEW side? In other words, would he make the exact same mistakes Vince did all those years ago? Don't rule it out.

It'd be almost guaranteed that All Elite would get to parade some sort of short-term superiority over the WWE brand. AEW stars would beat WWE ones in dream matches, and the overall slant would be towards Tony Khan's original company.

Avoiding this may well prove impossible for the All Eliters who want to brag about beating WWE.
