1. Create A Talent Ranking Henceforth Known As The Smackdown Six
This final change involves implementing a bit of a ranking system. Not one that ranks every superstar mind you, but one that kept track of the top names competing on Thursday Night Smackdown. This system of showing whose performing the best could pay homage to the most successful times in Smackdown history. It can be called The Smackdown Six and showcase the six most electrifying men on Thursday nights, paying homage to Paul Heyman, the man behind booking the Smackdown Six from 2002 (Edge, Rey Mysterio, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero), and The Rock, the man whose silver tongue coined the phrase after which Thursday Night Smackdown is named. Now for logistics. The Smackdown Six would be released monthly by an independent committee (not unlike the College Football Playoff Committee) and their rankings would be based on win/loss record as well as strength of victory and number of appearances on the blue brand. The Smackdown Six would be granted special privileges, including first right to championship matches, or right of refusal for a number of championship matches if a champion were named one of the six. Theyd also receive bonuses and first class locker room arrangements, among other privileges. The key is to make being included in the monthly Smackdown Six rankings mean something. Maybe the rankings themselves can fought over in Rapid Re-Seeding bouts. This is all in an effort to further differentiate Smackdown from Raw, which should be the name of the game if the WWE is serious about making changes that attract eyes to Thursday Night Smackdown. It needs to be its own show with its own distinct atmosphere in order to feel new and exciting to the average viewer. That should be the goal following the move, and heres to hoping that it is. So the question is do you like any of these proposed changes? If so which ones? Your thoughts are encouraged and greatly appreciated. Also let us know if you have any ideas for changes that might draw eyes to Smackdown following its move to Thursdays!
