10 Changes To Make WWE Smackdown's Thursday Move Successful
2. Every Show Closing Match Is A Title Match
Now of the changes that you can make, this would be the one that makes Smackdown a must see show every week. If the WWE announced that along with moving from Friday nights to Thursdays, that Smackdown was going to feature a title match in its main event every week, people might prioritize watching Smackdown. This rule would mean that every week, either the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, The Intercontinental Championship, The United States Championship, The Tag Team Championship, or the Divas Championship would be defended to close the show. More often than not it would be the latter four titles as opposed to the WWE World Heavyweight title, which is still pretty awesome. Imagine going into Thursdays every week knowing that at the end of the night there will be a title match. Not only does it create a big fight feel for every show, but it legitimizes the mid-card titles. This rule means more title defences for the champions, making them look stronger, more challengers, making the belts feel more prestigious because more people are vying for them, and more eyes on Smackdown, because they know that each week will feature a substantive main event where the combatants are battling over something with true prestige. This change if implemented and strictly abided by would make the entire product better.
