10 Characters WWE Gave Up On Way Too Soon

2. Right To Censor

Formed by Steven Richards, the Right To Censor group enlisted Ivory, Bull Buchanan, (reformed porn star) Val Venis and (reformed pimp) The Godfather (renamed The Goodfather). It was the WWF's answer to the Parent's Television Council complaints that had flooded in about content on their programming, and it was ingenious.

RTC threatened to sanitise the entire product and make the WWF wholesome family entertainment. In an era filled with weapon shots, blood, profanity, boobs, and attitude, fans didn't want that. Almost instantly, Richards and co became massive heels. Their run would unfortunately be cut short for no good reason.

No proper explanation was given as to why The Goodfather, Buchanan, and Venis walked out on Richards in May, 2001. They just refused to help him against The Undertaker and left him laying in the middle of the ring. It was a poor end to a gimmick the company could have continued. At the very least, RTC deserved a decent break up story.
