10 Classic Teams Who Returned To WWE Past Their Prime
7. The New Age Outlaws
Cool, charismatic and capable, Billy Gunn and Road Dogg were two of the most popular players in the game from 1998 to 2000. Nevertheless, all good things must come to an end and The New Age Outlaws disbanded in 2000, through a combination of injury and personal issues.
The pairing would reunite five years down the line in TNA as The James Gang and later The Voodoo Kin Mafia. Despite a controversial stint opposing the 2006 DX reunion in WWE, VKM failed to make an impact and were all but done by early 2008.
Thankfully, the legends got a more deserving swansong when they returned to WWE competition in 2013. The team picked up where they had left off, although the PG rating did mean they needed to modify their intro slightly. Nevertheless, the nostalgia factor more than made up for the minor amendment to their shtick.
After just a handful of matches, The Outlaws surprisingly won the WWE Tag Team Titles at Royal Rumble 2014, holding the titles for 36 days. After losing the titles to The Usos, their reunion run came to an end at WrestleMania XXX, when the pair did the honours for The Shield.
