5. Booker/Benoit Best Of 7 Series
YouTubeOf all of the storyline I have chosen, this one is probably the most straightforward. Take two really good to great wrestlers, give them a reason to feud and leave them to it. For Booker and Benoit it was to receive a TV Title match against Finlay, as Benoit had cost Booker a previous match for the title. The matches grew in their intensity and quality, and the crowd's responses grew and grew. To WCW management this may have been a mid-card feud over a minor title, but it gave the crowd a reason to care and they knew what the point of the feud was. This could so easily work today, Take two wrestlers, for example Jack Swagger and Kofi Kingston, and have them feud in a best of seven for a US Title match against Sheamus (assuming you remembered he is the champion!). It's an easy two month feud to book, building to the final match of the series at SummerSlam.
