10 Coldest Performers In WWE Right Now

6. R-Truth

R-Truth is custom-built for Main Event in 2017 - a show watched only by the absolute diehards at home - because they are the few who still care about him. His schtick is engaging enough for the live crowds, so his continued employment makes sense in the context of a glorified dark match hype man.

The problem is that he remains a fixture on RAW. He's a profoundly exhausted presence on WWE television, playing the same role he debuted in nine years ago. That's longer than Bret Hart's entire WWF singles run. His feud with Goldust went about as well as the tag team did, which makes you wonder why WWE bothered. But those three hours of RAW barely fill themselves.

Truth heard little Jiminy Crickets when he interrupted Goldust's The Shattered Truth bit on the July 3, RAW - probably because the prospect of a match - truly, any R-Truth match - was uninspiring in the extreme. It's not his fault; he's hardly going to add to his repertoire or do something new when his typecast role is so limited. But why...has he been employed...for nine years?

He's safe, reliable, loyal and free of injury. There's an upside to him - from the perspective of the office only.
