10 Coldest Performers In WWE Right Now
3. Jason Jordan
It's bordering on the disastrous, this Jason Jordan business.
Here's a guy who electrified TakeOver crowds with his and Chad Gable's über-athletic Steiner Brothers update. He had some much going for him: likability; babyface fire; crisp, crowd-popping hope spots. At least, he did, before he was unveiled as Kurt Angle's son. The angle hasn't worked. At all. You can sort of see what they're going for with it. An injury contrivance on the August 7 RAW forced Angle to throw a nearby enhancement talent at Jordan to fill TV time. This accidental nepotism didn't generate effective heat. The usually molten and invested Toronto crowd amused themselves with detached, mild chants of "Let's go, jobber!" They rattled Jordan, whose smooth offence unravelled in a clumsy mess. He reacted with an expression that more or less read as how did this go this wrong this quickly?
The tactic of programming Jordan with Miz, usually guaranteed to receive the desired reaction, hasn't worked either. It's strange even on paper. If the match with Jean-Pierre Goulet was meant to trigger accusations of favouritism, as part of a slow-burn heel turn, why position him in a feud with a heel? Arguably the best one, no less?
WWE have contrived to make a tall order even taller by confusing everything. The only thing that makes sense is the crowd reaction.
