10 Collector’s Items Of Modern WWE Brilliance

1. A Touching Moment

Asuka Becky Lynch
WWE

Us cynics have an idea of the WWE environment - and it's shared by virtually everybody that has recently left it, and before the global crisis, several more wanted to - as this awful, toxic anti-meritocracy that plunges morale into the bottom of the barrel, right there with its creative output.

On the RAW after a dismal Money In The Bank pay-per-view, Becky Lynch relinquished the RAW Women's Title and revealed that Asuka had won it, and not the customary MITB contract. The warmth of Asuka's legit reaction bled through the sterile veneer, and WWE seemed to have actual wholesome fun on the night that bled into everything else.

Seth Rollins wore a haunted look that fathers know all too well in a neat comedic touch missing from so much of WWE's portentous overall vibe. Becky's peers surrounded her to bask in a quietly, genuinely progressive real-life development. Shayna Baszler deadpanned her disgust, hilariously, with a pithy "That kid's gonna suck".

It was, simply, a nice time from which creativity - and a certain soul - fostered.

N.B. I didn't forget the Boneyard match. The Undertaker is not Clint Eastwood sorry.
