10 Common WWE Things You Won't See In AEW

6. Kayfabe Authority Figures

With the known power that The Elite hold as Executive Vice Presidents within the company, we will likely be robbed of ever seeing Hornswoggle be announced as the GM of AEW on TNT. What a shame: that was such a pinnacle of storytelling in our modern times.

All sarcasm aside, the kayfabe authority figure role will likely not have a place inside of AEW like it did for so many years in the WWE. There simply isn't a place for it when the fan base knows that four wrestlers hold actual power positions. Having even Tony Khan himself come in and try to do any of the traditional authority figure angles will just feel repetitive and confusing amongst a room of fans who are often escaping from Vince McMahon's world of storytelling.

Even if The Elite try to use their "power", it's likely the fans will mostly respond negatively. Look at the confusion that has stemmed from the loss Spears took at All Out. People have already started murmuring that everybody will just get pushed to the moon if they have an EVP title attached to their name.

While this claim is rather unfounded at this stage, especially with such a small sampling size, it does speak to how people perceive wrestling in the modern era. Look at the reaction to Shane McMahon lately. That may very well mean the death of the "authority figure" role soon.

But there may be a resurrection of another role inside of AEW.
