10 Common WWE Things You Won't See In AEW

3. Scripted Promos

With more content than ever being generated for Simon Miller's "Nobody Talks Like That", WWE is becoming a land of buzz words, plugs, catchphrases, and nicknames. It is almost like none of the other words actually matter, they are only a delivery method for the next merchandising opportunity.

This over-commercialization has made WWE lose sight of what made the best merchandise they ever had: unscripted promos. Look to the 10 September edition of RAW, where Madison Square Garden was flooded with a sea of Austin 3:16 shirts. That was never discussed in a meeting by former sitcom writers; it was blurted out by a genius who knew what his own character was going to be.

And now it is one of the best selling t-shirts in wrestling history.

And one needs not look further to prove this point than AEW's biggest rising star, Jon Moxley. After being stifled creatively in ways discussed exhaustively by both himself and others at this point, he has had tremendous success. He has shown in AEW and NJPW in a matter of months more character development and good promo work than arguably his entire WWE career.

And now with Jericho's meme-inducing catchphrase of "a little bit of the bubbly" being born at All Out, there may be more evidence than ever that fans miss the days of creative freedom for their favorite wrestlers. And that doesn't just apply to what they say, but also how they act.
