10 Common WWE Things You Won't See In AEW
4. Burying Small Guys
Long called the land of the giants, the WWE is home to a large supply of some of the largest men on the planet. Many of the most heavily-pushed stars would look just as at home starting at power forward for your favorite NBA team or lining up on an offensive line in the NFL just as much as they belong in the ring. But that trend has been changing over the years.
Long thought to not be "WWE guys", wrestlers like Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles have flourished in the company despite being under the usual height requirement to ride the WWE roller coaster. But as Chad Gable has proven, progress does not always equate to change. The constant short jokes and belittling have undermined what could be an otherwise excellent push in the King of the Ring so far.
It just comes back to appeasing what Vince McMahon perceives to be what is best, and he still hasn't caught up with the world that athletic and quicker paced wrestling has taken over.
But that is exactly the foundation AEW is building themselves on.
With 205 Live's future up in the air, the writing may already be on the wall much like it was on Gable's locker room door. If WWE is set on staying the land of the giants, then AEW may end up becoming the land of the lightweight.
And taking a lot of talented workers in the process.
