2. Defined Faces/Heels
As we saw with Kenny Omega's promo work on Moxley after his injury, faces and heels are not going to be as black and white as we are used to.
In the WWE, when somebody turns heel it is almost forced into your mind like a Jimmy Havoc staple gun to the head. Sasha Banks' return proving key, where she came back with a new hair color and attacked a face to prove what side of the coin she would be from here on out.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this, as this type of storytelling has always worked and will always work in wrestling. But just because something works doesn't mean AEW won't be thinking about changing it to change our perception of what to expect.
This blurring of the lines of face and heel will only further help with the more TV-14 stylized, legitimized, reality-based style of storytelling we can expect to see from AEW. Real people have enemies, and just because they may be generally considered a "good person" doesn't mean there aren't some people they can hate that bring the worst out in them. And vice versa, an "evil person" could have a loyalty to a certain person that makes them act heroic.
This brand of storytelling will be refreshing, and will help further separate the two products from one another. It also helps avoid dilemmas like Seth Rollins had, where he had to drop the belt to regain momentum as a face. Which also brings up...
