... That is until Cesaro answers Cena’s open challenge the very next week. Cesaro and Cena can have an equally awesome, but totally different kind of match than Cena will have with Tyson. It will be physical, it will feature a bevy of powerful maneuvers and it will feature Cesaro coming within a few moments of prying the United States Championship out of Cena’s hands. Of course Cesaro will come up short, and Cena will prevail, making Cesaro look all kinds of awesome in the process.
Afterward Tyson Kidd will voice his displeasure, much like Cesaro had the week prior. Both will feel slighted and a little inferior, each believing that their partner was willing to bail on their team for the greener pastures of singles gold.
If you’re being honest with yourself, the team of Kidd and Cesaro isn’t long for the WWE Universe. They’re a makeshift tag team (a really good one) that will runn it’s course sooner rather than later. This sets up their downfall and their eventual pursuits of singles titles, possibly having to go through one another to get there. At the end of the day, the story should be that this team doesn’t have the kind of tag team connection that can withstand one of the two shining more than the other. They don’t root for each other to succeed as much as they relied on each other to succeed, for a time. Its a story that encapsulates why some tag teams fall apart and demonstrates what qualities the best tag teams possess. All set in motion by the wickedly fun Cena Open Challenges.
