5. Shawn Michaels

'The Heartbreak Kid' recently took on a role as a trainer at the WWE Performance Center, and has been seen interacting with the up and coming stars on NXT on social media. Michaels is also set to act as special guest referee in an NXT Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Adam Cole. Even in retirement, it is difficult to keep HBK out of the spotlight.

If Daniel Bryan is to end his run as SmackDown General Manager, Shawn Michaels may well be the most popular choice to replace him. It would almost certainly lead to rumours of a return to the ring flying around, but it may be for the best if 'The Showstopper' remains retired.

Mr. WrestleMania would undoubtedly be a huge asset as General Manager however. Michaels has the respect of the fans and the wrestlers, but his occasional childish tendencies could provide SmackDown Live with an edge of unpredictability that has been lacking under the stewardship of the hyper-moral Bryan. Plus he has prior as the company's 'Commissioner' in 1998.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
