10 Contenders To Replace Daniel Bryan As WWE SmackDown General Manager

4. Sting

When Sting finally arrived in WWE at Survivor Series 2014, the wrestling world exploded. The Icon was the one major WCW star who had managed to resist the temptation (and checkbook) of Vince McMahon, but no one can hold out forever. With Sting finally in WWE, a lifetime of missed opportunities were waiting to be ticked off.

A WrestleMania match with Triple H came and went, followed by a shot at the WWE Championship. That bout proved to be Sting’s last however, when a buckle bomb from Seth Rollins went awry and put the 'Vigilante' on the shelf. Sting’s in-ring WWE career ended with a disappointing zero wins. What could have been never was going to be.

The schedule may not be to his liking, but a successful TV run as General Manager could go a long way to righting the wrongs of Sting’s brief WWE tenure. It would give a new generation of stars the chance to interact with a true legend of the sport, and allow Sting a chance to establish himself on WWE TV. It seems like a win-win.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
