10 Most Controversial WWE "Wellness Policy" Scandals

4. Jeff Hardy

WWE.comWWE.comIt's interesting to sit back for a minute and consider just what Jeff Hardy's career will be remembered for. His time in TNA? Probably not. It's more likely his WWE days will be what we remember Hardy for - but hopefully, that won't include a couple of suspensions for violating the Wellness Policy. In 2008, Hardy was on the rise to the top with the company. He had truly broken out as a singles competitor, and had already claimed the Intercontinental Championship. However, it wouldn't be long before he would pick up his second suspension (the first came in mid-2007), and he would have to take a 60-day suspension. Naturally, he had to drop the title, doing so to Chris Jericho on Raw. But perhaps even worse, the timing of his ban actually forced him to sit out WrestleMania that year - and the illustrious Money in the Bank match. Would he have claimed the briefcase? Possibly. Although CM Punk won it, there wasn't a lot of serious competition for Hardy to compete with that year. However, it mattered little, as he managed to win the World Heavyweight Championship later that year.
