It must be impossible to ascertain what it is that Vince McMahon actually wants because, if nothing else, he has firmly established a paradox over the last however many years.

He doesn't like meek millennials who don't show the ruthless aggression necessary to grab the "brass ring". Those millennials who do show the entrepreneurial spirit however are gaslighted or, in the hilarious case of Zack Ryder, strapped into a wheelchair and forcibly removed from the stage, in symbolism richer than any modern WrestleMania story, by an absolutely massive f*cking boomer.

Michael McGillicutty, later Curtis Axel from a certain moment from on, found himself with a bomb to defuse when Vince repeatedly stepped on his foot early in his WWE career. He'd continue the promo class he was teaching ("Space out every sentence and start the next one with "You see..."), step on McGillicutty's foot, and repeat the process. After some time, he finally lashed out. Vince, not McGillicutty, because why would McGillicutty?

To pass a deranged test, of course; Vince, per a Ricardo Rodriguez RF Video shoot, said to his contractor with no job security that "I am waiting for you to stand up for yourself".

"But Ryder did, and you tried to break his f*cking coccyx lol"
