Even though the character is one of the longest-running in WWE history, things haven't always been smooth for Glenn Jacobs. Long before he was tearing it up as The Undertaker's brother, Kane, Jacobs had to endure some amazingly hokey gimmicks. Many of these took place solely in companies such as Smoky Mountain Wrestling and the USWA, but occasionally the big man would be called upon to play a short-lived persona on WWF TV. Before Jacobs pretended to be Kevin Nash during a short stint as the 'Fake Diesel' in late-1996 into early-1997, he was Jerry Lawler's own personal dentist from hell, and the man enlisted by Lawler to try and finish off Bret Hart at Summerslam 1995. Going under the moniker of Isaac Yandem D.D.S, Jacobs tried his best with the character, but it was a lame duck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LVXb6o0_EI This kind of gimmick perfectly sums up the mid-90's WWF, coming across more like a poorly-written episode of Scooby Doo than a pro wrestling show. Yankem even had poor dental hygiene, because the irony that a dentist has bad teeth makes him a villain, apparently. Thank God for Kane, and Jacob's exemplary performances in that role, because the lord only knows what the company would have had for him next.
