10 Crazy Weird Pro Wrestling Stories You Won't Believe

6. Jerry Lawler's Crown Gets A Pretty Crappy Gift

When Jerry "The King" Lawler first joined the WWF in late-1992, he was mainly hired as an announcer. Lawler would wrestle extensively over the years - especially in the 90's - for his new employer, but Vince McMahon was far more interested in using the guy as a commentator, knowing he could whip a crowd into a frenzy with his microphone ability. Having been a huge star in his native Memphis, as well as in companies such as the AWA and NWA, prior to his arrival in the WWF, Lawler likely felt he was pretty high up on the food chain. His attitude started to irk more than a few WWF regulars, and the decision was made to teach the wrestling royalty a little lesson in respect, and welcome him to the promotion in the process. Reportedly, whilst Lawler was out the room, a few other members of the WWF fraternity elected to defecate in his infamous crown, but it's unclear which event this besmirching took place at. Many reports point to the 1994 Royal Rumble, and implicate The Kliq as being involved, but Bret Hart tells a story in his book about a fair few of the roster taking turns, proving that Lawler wasn't liked at all.
