We all know that John Cena has recently been out of the WWE spotlight as he continues to pursue a career in acting, yet it's a little crazy to think that it's three years since Cena last won a World Championship.

That title win came at the 2017 edition of the Royal Rumble PPV, with Big Match John defeating AJ Styles to tie Ric Flair's record of 16 World Championship reigns. Unfortunately for Cena, that stint as WWE Champion lasted just two weeks.

It remains to be seen whether Flair's legendary World Championship record will ever be surpassed by Super Cena, but one crazy Royal Rumble theory would be for Cena to make his shock return on 26 January and win the men's Rumble match. From there, the former Prototype would go on to the Showcase of the Immortals and win the WWE Championship or Universal Championship as he surpasses the Nature Boy's record.

Coincidentally, John Cena has previous with making surprise Royal Rumble returns, of course. Two-time Rumble winner Cena famously made a shock return at #30 to win the 2008 Royal Rumble.
