10 Criminally Underrated Wrestler/Manager Combos

1. Mankind/Paul Bearer

Not quite as grating as Paul Bearer's ghoulish voice.

Think of the portly Bearer and you'd be forgiven for picturing The Undertaker by his side. That premier combo was a triumph for presentation in an era when that was the law, and it became borderline impossible to see Paul with anyone else. That's when Mick Foley's fractured soul Mankind came along.

By 1996, creative decided they wanted 'Taker to stand on his own merits away from his pasty-faced urn-carrier, and so they split the pair mid-feud with Mankind. Suddenly, Bearer and Mick became inseparable, and they succeeded in almost bettering the chemistry between Paul and 'The Deadman'.

This writer is kinda' expecting some hate mail for that statement, and he doesn't care (bring it on, oooooooh yeeeeeees). Bearer was so good at his role, and Mankind so utterly convincing as a deranged psychopath who could knock The Undertaker off his lofty perch, that they went together like it was 1991 again and Bearer was supplanting Brother Love.
