10 Current Stars Who Should Have Been WWE Champion By Now
5. Ryback
Ryback had the unfortunate luck of being pushed into the WWE Championship scene before his story was ready for him to reach that point. He re-debuted and began squashing enhancement talent and within months he was feuding with CM Punk for the title. At the time, John Cena was feuding with Punk, but he suffered an arm injury a month before their planned Hell in a Cell match. Ryback was surfing a wave of popularity at the time and was slotted into the match in Cenas place. The problem was, Ryback never had a chance at winning Punks title as the latter would go on to hold it for 434 days. Rybacks main title contention ended up doing him more harm than good, and it took WWE nearly two years to get Ryback back to that initial popularity. The upside is that in those two years Ryback found his personality, thanks to the highly entertaining tag-team, Rybaxel. Hes once again one of the most over men in the country, and theres still plenty of time for The Big Guy to get the WWE Championship.
