10 Current Superstars WWE Has No Idea What To Do With

4. The Usos

SmackDown’s tag division hasn’t looked good lately. Champions American Alpha have just a minimal following, and they suffer from a lack of quality competition. There’s next to no fan investment throughout the division, and the teams have been reduced to competing in a series of crowded multi-team matches rather than individual storylines.

The Usos should be the division’s chief antagonists at this point. They’ve looked decent since turning heel in September, but have been given very little to sink their teeth into. Their brief American Alpha feud faded away without a conclusion, and while The Usos appeared to reignite this rivalry by assaulting the champs at Elimination Chamber, they’ve done very little of note over the past six months.

An injury kept Jey sidelined through November, but they were rudderless long before that. While SmackDown’s women each enjoy storylines and angles individually tailored to their characters, the tag teams are given little opportunity for growth, development, and investment. A long-term feud with Alpha would make for an excellent platform to build the rest of the division on, but SmackDown pulled the rug from under them before, and there’s no guarantee they won’t do it again.
