5. Jack Swagger

What exactly was the point of Jack Swagger’s brand switch last year? The former World Heavyweight Champion was sent to Raw as part of the 2016 WWE Draft, but soon walked away from the red brand after losing to Jinder Mahal. He turned-up on SmackDown the following night, cut a fired-up promo insinuating that he was ready to make a mark, then promptly lost a brief feud with Baron Corbin.

Swagger has only wrestled two matches on the blue brand thus far, and hasn’t appeared since October. His last television appearance came through a win over Simon Gotch on Main Event on November 1st, and whatever’s going on with Jack at the moment, it’s clear WWE have no plans for him. Moving to SmackDown has proven to be a pointless exercise, and Swagger is as lost as ever.

WWE have struggled to find a solid role for Swagger ever since his Zeb Colter affiliation ended. He still uses the grandiose entrance music and patriotic “we, the people” gimmick, but poor old Jack just isn’t doing anything. He has never been the most charismatic guy in the world, but he’s an underrated wrestler with an impressive power game. You’d think he’d be able to find his place in SmackDown’s threadbare midcard, but no: Jack Swagger is nothing at the moment.
