10 Current Top WWE Talents Who Are Missing A Truly Classic Match
5. Baron Corbin
The words 'instant classic' and 'Baron Corbin' haven't often been used in the same sentence since his call up from NXT in 2016.
Corbin excels as a piece of sh*t on the mic, regularly making you want to see his babyface opponent triumph over him on the night. Yet, when it comes to the eventual action in the ring, more often than not fans are left begging the good guy to put them out of their misery.
Though he does tend to find some form in multi-man matches, when faced with the prospect of a one-on-one encounter Corbin simply doesn't rise to the occasion. His bout against 'Big Match' John Cena at SummerSlam 2017, god awful retiring of Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35 and recent snooze-feud involving dog food with Roman Reigns all point to a performer who doesn't seem destined to produce a legendary match for the ages.
Corbin could prove your writer wrong and start churning out Match of the Year contenders on a weekly basis over on SmackDown, but it feels more likely that he'll continue to tediously work through sub-par clashes on the blue brand.
