10 Current WWE Stars Who Are Triple H Guys
3. Tommaso Ciampa
Tommaso Ciampa has become a Triple H guy.
He wasn't signed with an appreciable fanfare, as with many of the upper-echelon Indy acts Triple H sought to shake hands with for a self-aggrandising photo shoot. Ciampa was initially brought in - as opposed to signed - to NXT to make up the field of the inaugural Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in literal tandem with Johnny Gargano. An awesome, eye-opening (and eye-blackening) late '15 bout with Samoa Joe proved that he was every bit as good as his more celebrated peers, and a full-time offer followed shortly thereafter. Ciampa, almost as quickly, restored two long-diminished roles in WWE: tag team specialist and genuinely despised mega heel. The formation and dissolution of #DIY dominated the onscreen narrative and propelled NXT to an even more sky-high stratosphere of critical acclaim.
If you can permit the kayfabe comparison, Ciampa became a Triple H guy by himself. The man looks like the Psycho Killer he bills himself as. There is not an ounce of body fat on his preposterously shredded body. He projects himself as dedicating his career to being the world's most preeminent sports entertainer. He lives to be a vicious pr*ck.
NXT is Ciampa right now. He's not just Triple H's new man; he is The Man.
