5. Daniel Bryan

There is a strong argument to be made that Daniel Bryan is the greatest WWE superstar of the past decade.

When you look across the decade at the various Superstars which have graced WWE's product in the last decade, there are none who constantly delivered at such a consistent rate as Daniel Bryan. Put simply, along with CM Punk, Bryan changed the game in WWE, training fans to not accept the classic WWE big guys who couldn't really work and embrace those who had spent years perfecting their craft and were dedicated to putting on the best matched for fans every right.

Even after a brief retirement due to concussion injuries, Bryan has continued to prove himself as one of the most proficient wrestlers of his generation. His willingness to sacrifice his well-being for the sake of our entertainment is incredible to watch. His match with Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series 2018, was a bleak reminder of this, as Bryan launched himself headfirst around the ring at the hands of Lesnar's brutal offence.

Excellent as both a heroic babyface and a smarmy heel, Bryan can be thrown into virtually any programme WWE feel they need him in and he will turn it into something special. As Bryan moves towards the end of his full-time career, WWE need to do everything they can to use Bryan's skills in order to get their next crop of talent over.
