10 Current WWE Superstars Who Should Be World Champion In The Next Year

4. John Morrison

Ah, finally. John Morrison has never been NXT champion!

In fact, Morrison is yet to win a world title of any kind in his WWE tenure (provided you don't count the ECW World Championship, which I don't). He has a rather unique blend of indie darling and WWE history behind him, his style is still so good that it's impossible not to appreciate his athleticism, and we live in a world where Kofi Kingston finally broke through that glass ceiling. If Kingston can get his (richly deserved and immensely enjoyable) run at the top, then JoMo deserves a couple of months as top dog.

He might be on the older side of the scale for the theme of this list but Morrison is still only 41. He's done enough even since returning to show he still has the chops in the ring and on the mic to be a worthy champion, even if for a short time. His antics post-match at Hell In A Cell were surreal but fantastic, he managed to stand out in the triple threat ladder match at WrestleMania 36, and he deserves a run with a top title before he hangs up the boots.
