10 Current WWE Superstars Who Should Be World Champion In The Next Year
3. Bianca Belair
WWE is dangerously close to ruining Bianca Belair before she could even have a chance to help fix the lopsided women's divisions at the top of the card. She beat Zelina Vega on SmackDown but, at the time of writing, that has been one of only two matches since 11 September 2020. The other was a #1 Contenders Battle Royale which Lana won, for some reason.
Belair is the total package, and WWE can build her up to main-eventer by just getting her in the ring. The EST vignettes have been hit and miss, but the fact that some of them have been genuinely entertaining is a concern. One of WWE's biggest problems in the past few years has been blindly stumbling across a bit that works and running it, and the unfortunate Superstar involved, into the ground.
Belair is too good for this treatment. However, there is the possibility of holding off on her just a little bit longer. The vignettes keep going - hopefully at a better strike rate - until Royal Rumble season. Repeat her outstanding showing in last year's Rumble... only have her win the whole thing, and move on to a prominent WrestleMania clash with Asuka.
