It would be a remarkable, meteoric rise for the one-time NXT Champion (there is a theme developing here...) if he were to capture a world title in the next 12 months. The thing is, he is so good and so over right now that it would be a phenomenal opportunity for WWE to strap the rocket to him while that groundswell of support is still baying for it.
The signs are there for the big man. He's been inserted into the Drew McIntyre/Randy Orton WWE Championship feud - he beat The Viper at Payback and fought then-WWE champ McIntyre to one no contest and a DQ loss. He's fought Braun Strowman on the last two Raws; those matches ended in a double count-out and a screwy defeat.
While he's been pushed straight in with the big players on Monday nights, Lee's only victories since that Payback win have been against Andrade and Dolph Ziggler; men who can bump like they've been shot with a cannonball.
