10 Current WWE Superstars Who Will Never Get Over

9. Curtis Axel

As sad as it is to see, especially for fans of Mr. Perfect, the late Curt Hennig's son Curtis Axel should go by the name of Mr. Passable. Because quite frankly, that's all he is. When the former Michael McGillicutty was a contestant on NXT, he showed a bit of potential in the ring, but made his mark with a hilariously awful promo in which he remarked "Starting this moment, from now...from this moment on......this will be the moment...starting now...of the genesis...of McGillicutty." He's made drastic improvements in the ring since then, and is more than capable of having an entertaining match. But not even the incredible Paul Heyman, who's currently doing the best work of his career, could get fans to care about Axel. Instead he completely overshadowed him and highlighted his averageness. His tenure as a Heyman guy ended with no real explanation and one has to believe that may have been his only chance at a push. Now he's one half of the amusingly named tag team RybAxel, and while they're entertaining in spurts, they don't appear destined for anything other than heels to feed to the face teams. Couple that with WWE's lack of focus in booking a strong tag division and Curtis is stuck in a rut he'll probably never get out of.
