10 Current WWE Superstars Who Will Never Get Over

5. Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio is another classic example of a performer who has already maxed out his potential for WWE. The former Dos Caras, Jr. is one of the better workers on the roster, capable of pulling off a good effort with a wide variety of opponents. WWE initially had high hopes for Del Rio, and looked to him as one of the key talents in helping them break into the Mexican market and expand their Hispanic fan base. Del Rio debuted with a strong push, adopting the gimmick of a Mexican aristocrat who drove to the ring in expensive luxury cars and had his own personal announcer. His first match was a main event win over Rey Mysterio and signified big things were in store. WWE deserves some credit here for not going their usual trite route of playing into stereotypes with Del Rio like they have with so many other talented Hispanic performers. Del Rio had some good heat for a while, and to date has held both the WWE and World titles on two occasions each, as well as having Royal Rumble and Money In The Bank victories. Despite that, he just doesn't have that "it" that makes one a true superstar. Recently he's been the subject of rumors that have him vocally expressing his dissatisfaction with his role in the company, and all indications are that he'll be gone when his contract runs out in a few months. That's probably best for him, because he can be a huge draw and top star in his home country, as opposed to WWE where he's gone as far as he's ever going to.
