10 Deadly Spots That SHOULD Have Destroyed Wrestlers (...But Didn't)
7. Sting Is Nailed By A Frightening 630, Still Wrestles On Dynamite (AEW X NJPW: Forbidden Door 2023)
Your daily reminder that Sting is currently in his mid-60s - because it's easy to forget that this immortal 'Icon' made his debut all the way back in 1985 whenever the 'Stinger' decides to steal all the headlines with his new favourite pastime of being AEW's resident veteran crash-test dummy.
But perhaps the scariest bump Sting has found himself at the centre of since laughing in the face of retirement a few years back came during this year's Forbidden Door version of his trademark party match.
Whereas those other instances of Sting shockingly putting his body on the line generally involved him very much choosing to throw himself off many a high place onto some poor souls below, his taking of Sammy Guevara's 630 senton didn't appear to be intentional in the slightest.
Sting just couldn't get out of the way quick enough. So, the 64-year-old ended up taking the full force of the devastating table spot. Madness.
Anyone else would've likely taken a week off to recover from such a frightening moment.
Not Stinger.
A few days on from that crushing botch, he could be found soaring through the sky once again on Dynamite, slamming head-first into Guevara's knee after another insane ladder/table spot.
And perhaps the most shocking part of all, Darby Allin would eventually note that the legend was still "feeling great" after that hellacious week.
