10 Directions WWE Can Go After Battleground 2015

7. Give The Intercontinental Title To An NXT Star

The curse of the Intercontinental Championship continues, with Ryback the latest champion to fall victim of an injury. Reports seem to indicate that he is suffering from only a minor setback, and should be back to his best in time for SummerSlam - but maybe it's time to completely refresh the Intercontinental landscape. Kevin Owens has proven just how quickly a talented NXT star can get over with the right booking, his trilogy of matches with Cena propelling him rapidly towards the top of the card. Ryback is hardly the most inspiring Intercontinental Champion out there, with a slew of more talented, charismatic workers waiting for a chance in the developmental programme. A new face (such as current NXT Champion Finn Balor) would be the perfect candidate, while a slightly left-field option could be the indie veteran, Samoa Joe.
