10 Disturbing WCW Nitro Moments You Totally Don't Remember

1. Randy Savage Slaps Torrie Wilson (5 July 1999)

Ignore the fact that Randy Savage is dressed like 2000-era Chris Jericho in the image above for a second and cast a glance instead to what's happening. 'Macho Man', complete with angry scowl, is pointing a finger at Torrie Wilson as 'Gorgeous' George cowers in the corner. Seconds later, Randy would slap Torrie.

That is not a joke.

In one of the most disturbing scenes WCW ever put to tape, Savage actually hit Wilson and rag-dolled George out of the room. Then, he returned and balled up a fist before thinking twice about it. There's no need for insinuation here. WCW, for some reason, were casting Savage as a woman-beating bad guy who had succumb to his 'Macho Madness'.

Torrie appeared so taken aback by the slap that she visibly started laughing on camera. Was that the plan all along, or did Randy call an unfortunate audible? Whatever the truth, this was not cool. Domestic abuse is not something wrestling fans want to think about when tuning in.
