10 Dream Wrestling Matches That Only Happened On TV

9. Kurt Angle vs. Ric Flair (Monday Night Raw; June 27, 2005)

By this point in his career, Ric Flair was well past his prime, but that didn't mean he couldn't have a great match. Kurt Angle, on the other hand, was still putting on clinics each and every week, regardless of who he was squaring off with. He was fresh off being drafted to the Raw brand, and who better to make an impact against than the 16-time world champion himself, Ric Flair? It wasn't the match it could have been ten years prior, but that didn't at all take away from the excitement of it. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2kvxb_wwe-kurt-angle-vs-ric-flair-raw-6-2_sport At the time, Flair was finally breaking off on his own after spending nearly three years by the side of Triple H who had just taken a leave of absence after 2005's Vengeance event. One night prior to this bout, Angle had competed in another classic with Shawn Michaels, setting the standards quite high for his encounter with Flair on this show. Somehow, someway, they managed to deliver. The two submission specialists had a clash for the ages, and how it never transitioned into a pay-per-view-caliber rivalry between them is still a mystery to this day. Angle and Flair didn't cross paths much in WWE, but this match was indicative of the magic they could make if they were even given an opportunity to feud.
