10 Dream Wrestling Matches That Only Happened On TV

8. The Undertaker vs. Jeff Hardy (Monday Night Raw; July 1, 2002)

Fresh off his split from his brother Matt, Jeff Hardy was looking to make a name for himself in singles competition. He beat Triple H for the Intercontinental Championship in what was considered a massive upset one year prior, but it wasn't enough to get him noticed. Then came his WWE Championship Ladder match against The Undertaker. Undertaker was being forced to defend his strap only eight days removed from a successful title defense against Triple H at King of the Ring. Hardy wasn't seen as a threat to 'Taker in the slightest, but the man who'd later become known as The Charismatic Enigma changed the fans' perception of him with this one match. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_ANV_KiB9Q Hardy was no stranger to ladders given that he was among the elite few involved in the first ever TLC match, but Undertaker was. Despite that, he thrived in the environment and the two had an excellent back-and-forth match. Hardy came close to winning the gold on several occasions, making fans in attendance think he could be on the cusp of glory after all. "Climb the ladder, kid! Make yourself famous!" said Jim Ross on commentary, a phrase that still lives on in the minds of fans to this day. Undertaker ultimately came out on top, but instead of annihilating the up-and-comer afterward as he was known to do, he shook his hand as a sign of respect, solidifying Hardy as a star from that point forward. The two would meet in a much anticipated rematch on the November 14, 2008 edition of SmackDown, but never would they clash on pay-per-view.
