10 DUMB WWE Matches (We Didn't Want To Admit Were GENIUS!)

3. Blindfold Them!

Jake Roberts vs. Rick Martel from WrestleMania VII is the kind of oddity that'll show up on 'Worst Ever' lists aplenty, but check it out again/for the first time if you haven't had the pleasure. It was good clean fun, and was never supposed to be taken seriously as a potential 'Mania classic. Jake and Martel knew their role on the night.

They were there to ham it up for 10 minutes or so.

Both wrestlers stuck hoods over their heads to make them "blindfolded". The basic premise of the match was that Martel took pratfalls and Jake used noise from the rowdy live crowd to help him win. If only he could find the 'Model' and lock that fan-popping DDT on. That was the tease of the whole thing.

This is the kind of silly bout that leans hard on audience participation. Fans at 'Mania VII were only too happy to help Roberts out and laugh at Martel's fumbling around in the dark antics. Yes, it was stupid, but it was the walking (stumbling?) definition of a let-me-up match.
