Its safe to say that The Undertaker is one of the most enduring wrestlers and characters ever. Since debuting in 1990, the character of the supernatural undead outlaw has been a fixture in WWE. Although hes gone through a number of bizarre or surprising changes and evolutions, he remained one of the most consistently entertaining and captivating superstars in wrestling history. One of his most exciting and interesting evolutions was as the leader of The Ministry of Darkness. Along with his long-time manager Paul Bearer, he formed a stable to take on Steve Austin, and eventually Vince McMahon in a big to take over the WWF. He didnt just recruit people by asking nicely, The Undertakers initiation method was a bit more hardcore. The first two recruits were Farooq and Bradshaw, who abducted Dennis Knight and kept him trapped in a dungeon for a time. He was eventually brought onto the stage for a ritual ceremony where The Undertaker slit his wrists and drained the blood into a goblet. Knight was forced to drink The Undertakers blood and was embued with The Undertakers power, rechristened as Mideon While blood was more common during The Attitude Era, this was a step too far into grossness, and the brainwashing and supernatural element to it seemed like something more suited to the cartoon wrestling of the eighties as opposed to the realistic, edgy storytelling of the 1990s.
