10 Dumbest Storylines In WWE History
3. The Anonymous Raw GM
And speaking of Hornswoggle...
In 2010, with the horrors of RAW celebrity guest hosts in the rear view mirror, WWE went with a different tack for their newest authority figure: an evil laptop.
For almost a year straight, the flow of the show would be disrupted by an email read aloud by no one’s favourite heel commentator Michael Cole. Between bouts of angrily burying future megastar Daniel Bryan, Cole would quote the Anonymous RAW GM’s demands for all to hear. In what was a general low year for Edge, he found himself feuding with the laptop during his final months on the RAW roster, even busting himself open whilst headbutting the hardware.
The angle was quietly dropped in 2011 with zero reveal of the mystery GM’s identity for some time after (the popular theory had been Cole himself among many fans).
Eventually it turned out to be Hornswoggle with zero development or payoff on that. At what point will it turn out Hornswoggle was behind Austin losing that ladder match at King of the Ring '99?
