10 Dumbest Things That Happened At WrestleMania 31

8. Roman Reigns' Limited Move-Set

Heading into WrestleMania, Roman Reigns seemed doomed to fail, and WWE's attempt to position him as the best and most special wrestler to ever exist was backfiring. If he won, it would have been one of the worst received WrestleMania endings of all time, and if he lost, he would have ended up on the scrapheap of aborted main event pushes with Ryback, The Miz and Bad News Barrett. WWE managed to save the match, and in many ways Reigns€™ career, by having him take the beating of his life only to lose to the opportunistic Seth Rollins. Many have compared the beating Reigns took to Tommy Dreamer€™s infamous caning by The Sandman, and a lot of Roman Reigns€™ detractors walked out of WrestleMania with an increased respect for him. The problem, however, lies in Reigns€™ offense, and how little variation of it there was, as once he got Lesnar on the ropes, all he did was Superman Punch and Spear, to little effect. John Cena is someone who often gets criticised for having a limited move-set, but he€™ll switch it up with a Michinoku Driver or Springboard Stunner every now and then when his go-to maneuvers aren€™t working. Reigns€™ finisher spamming was likely supposed to look like he was using his biggest and most effective moves to the agents who booked the match, and it€™s important to remember that Roman himself didn€™t put the match together. However, as Reigns struggled to put Lesnar down, it just looked like he was lost, out of his depth, and didn€™t know what else to do when the only two moves he knows don€™t work.
