This is a great trivia question for any wrestling fan: Who had the shortest WCW World Heavyweight Championship reign in WCW history? You would think it was someone like David Arquette or Vince Russo, right? Wrong. WCW€™s poster boy, Sting, is the correct answer.

Keep in mind, Chris Jericho€™s unification of the WWE and WCW Championships in 2001 is technically considered the shortest reign at 13 minutes, but when it comes to legitimate title reigns in the confines of World Championship Wrestling as its own entity, Sting takes the cake at 90 minutes.

On the April 26th, 1999 episode of WCW Monday Nitro, Sting defeated Diamond Dallas Page to become WCW World Heavyweight Champion in arguably the best Nitro match you will ever see. The place went insane when he got the surprise three count after a Diamond Cutter counter into a Scorpion Death Drop. Even at 15 years old, I knew that match was special.

Then WCW did the most WCW thing WCW could do: they booked Sting in a Four Way with the championship on the line that same night against DDP, Kevin Nash, and Goldberg. After interference from Randy Savage, some brass knuckles, and a sloppy Diamond Cutter, Page pinned Nash and walked out with Sting€™s title. Why bother?
