10 Dumbest Things WCW Did To Sting

10. He Introduced The Shockmaster

This one isn€™t so much on Sting as it is on Dusty Rhodes for thinking of it, but Stinger still pulled the trigger. For the uninitiated, The Shockmaster is arguably the most memorable blunder in the ridiculous history of the wrestling business. In the build toward Fall Brawl €˜93, the team of Sting, Davey Boy Smith, and Dustin Rhodes were in desperate need of a partner for their upcoming War Games bout with Vader, Sid, and Harlem Heat.

How desperate? So desperate that they enlisted the help of a 384 lb. guy formerly known as €œTyphoon€ who liked to wear a long, fur vest, jeans, and a Storm Trooper helmet covered in purple and silver glitter. To make matters worse, when Sting introduced him on Ric Flair€™'s interview segment €œA Flair for the Gold€ at Clash of the Champions XXIV, The Shockmaster tripped through the wall he was supposed to come barging through causing his helmet to fall off, Davey Boy Smith to curse on live television, and the crowd to uncomfortably laugh.

Granted, there were unforeseen issues with the set that engineered the stumble, but the damage was done. So why was Sting at fault? Because, in keeping with kayfabe, he was the one who recruited him! If I€™m Sid, Vader, Booker T, or Stevie Ray, I€™m thinking, €œThat€™s your partner? Awesome! You can have him!€ The Shockmaster ultimately won the War Games match for his team, but recovery from the tumble was nowhere in sight.
