WWE is fast running out of so-called marquee names to head up its annual Hall of Fame ceremony, with many of the biggest still-to-be-inducted stars - Triple H, Undertaker, John Cena - yet to hang up their boots.

Of those who have quit the business (if not necessarily formally retired) the two biggest standouts are Batista and The Rock, and since the former still harbours ambitions of getting back in the ring, The Great One is perhaps the more likely option.

Admittedly, WWE has probably approached him about a HOF nod every year for the last decade, so whether he does appear next year in New Jersey will largely hinge on his own feeling on the matter, and specifically whether he thinks 2019 is the right time to, in effect, put the cap on his wrestling career.

We're not mind readers, but it seems reasonable to surmise that most retirees would rather be inducted while they're still relatively young, in order that they can celebrate the moment alongside their peers and in front of a crowd that still remembers them. So, 2019? It's very possible.
