10 Early Reasons To Be Worried About WWE Royal Rumble 2023

8. Lacklustre Final Royal Rumble Entrants

The coveted number thirty spot in a Royal Rumble hasn't historically been reserved for marquee moments.

Though touted as a great honour, it's often given to any random goober on the roster. Rey Mysterio in 2014, Roman Reigns in 2017, and Dolph Ziggler in 2018 are all recent standouts in this category, even if the latter was 'The Showoff' making his triumphant return to WWE programming after *sigh* one month away.

It has held some level of actual prestige in other years, however; John Cena's return in the 2008 Rumble is unquestionably the finest example of such a moment. The ex-WWE Champion had only a few months prior been sidelined with a torn pectoral muscle, a prognosis that was initially stated as keeping him on the injured shelf for close to a year and yet, here he was in Madison Square Garden, a mere three months into the future.

2022, as has been made crystal clear throughout this list, was the epitome of producing a terrible Royal Rumble match. In both the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches, the final entrant - Brock Lesnar and Shayna Baszler, respectively - were cold attempts at perfecting the last entrant formula.

Expect to see the temperature changed on 28 January 2023 with some hot and exciting final additions to the match.
