The concept of X-Pac in a modern-day Royal Rumble match is a question of when, rather than if. He’s previously admitted that he was keen to enter the thirty-man fray for the 2022 offering, outright stating his intention to be in-ring-ready by the time the Premium Live Event rolled around.

Saying on his Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast (h/t Wrestling Inc.):-

"So, just in case, I would like to be ready by Royal Rumble time, but that's not something that's my main goal, go do the Royal Rumble. But if they called me, I would do the Royal Rumble. I love WWE, and regardless of what's going on, I still have love for them, and so I would like for them to be the ones that host my return matches. But if not, there's plenty other people that will."

He didn’t return ultimately. Fast forward one year later, however, and his buddy holds the pen. It’s clear as day that X-Pac is entering the 2023 Royal Rumble match, a return that would be welcomed by this writer, so long as the former European Champion doesn’t dominate.

As far-fetched as it sounds, it wouldn’t be the first time such a moment has occurred. Just last year, Shane McMahon booked himself to be a formidable adversary for the likes of Kevin Owens, making it to the final three alongside Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre. It can’t get much worse, but that doesn’t open the floodgates for X-Pac to be kicking the p*ss out of Matt Riddle and Kevin Owens.
