10 Early Signs WWE WrestleMania 37 Is Going To Be AWESOME
4. A Live Audience
Yes, that's right.
Actual real people.
And a change of scenery.
Obviously, we have to stamp a big 'Card Subject to Change' on this one. But hey, the Super Bowl happened, so it's leaning over to the right side of feasible.
With initial hopes that 30,000 people will fill the Raymond James Stadium still in the pipeline, WrestleMaina 37 is set to contain a level of human interaction that the wrestling world has not seen since early 2020. That includes excitable, unique, only partially predictable human beings, waving signs, clapping, and providing sincere real-time feedback on how much they are enjoying the match in front of them. The way it should be.
Whilst it's a staggering technical achievement, the Thunderdome screens just can't compete, nor can pre-recorded crowd noises. Wrestlers need their audience back.
Nothing about post-lockdown life is going to snap back into normality overnight, but WrestleMania's live attendance could be a precursor for the natural live environment that predated the pandemic. Or maybe WWE will find a way of mixing up the two. We'll see, but this could bode well for the long-term future.
